Study doesn’t have to be set in large blocks of time:  No time block is too small for you to accomplish something. To get the most out of your study time, try these easy tips:

  1. Study in brief time periods before and after class meetings
  2. Study before recitation & discussion courses in order to keep material fresh in your mind
  3. Study after lecture courses —  you’ll retain more from a lecture course if you review your notes right after class
  4. Don’t make your schedule too detailed — it’s good to be efficient, but a schedule that’s too packed can be overwhelming.
  5. Try to study in 1-hour blocks. (Don’t overload yourself. You’ll just have difficulty retaining the information.)
  6. Begin your study session with the course that gives you the most difficulty.
  7. Make room for meals and sleep — skipping needed food may seem to save you time at first, but in the long run it will adversely affect your health as well as the quality of your education.
